![]() | Savannah was found by the side of the freeway, very ill, and had apparently recently had puppies.
When Savannah came to The Safe Haven, she had pneumonia, though she started improving, she had a relapse. The pneumonia turned septic and she nearly died. She spent eight days at Haslett Animal Hospital, on 3 different IV antibiotics. On day five, one of her veterinarians suggested that at some point we might have to consider "pulling the plug". The bill was climbing but we didn't want to give up on her. By the end of day six she turned the corner and was on her way back. She came home on day nine, having a $1,100.00 vet bill. A few months later she tore a cruciate ligament while playing. Savannah had proven she was well worth the additional Veterinarian bills and rehabilitation. Just ask her mom & dad & brother Shayne, another former Safe Haven resident. Today they all live near Traverse City, running & playing on the beach and enjoying Savannah's favorite pastime. . . . playing in the water. | ![]() but all of that is in the past! |
